Abu Dhabi sets new toll charges and parking fees for Ramadan 2026
UAE prepares with reduced working hours and school time adjustments
ABU DHABI – Abu Dhabi’s Q Mobility has unveiled the official Ramadan schedule for Darb toll gates and Mawaqif public parking, alongside the applicable fees for residents and visitors.
The announcement comes as the UAE prepares for the holy month, with adjustments in working hours, school schedules, and transport services across the country.
Toll gates
During Ramadan, Darb toll charges will apply from Monday to Saturday in two specific periods: the morning peak from 8am to 10am, and the evening peak from 2pm to 6pm. Each crossing will cost Dh4, while Sundays remain toll-free.
Motorists can pay through multiple official channels, including the Darb app, the Tamm platform, SMS, or the payment machines installed at various locations across Abu Dhabi.
Public parking
Mawaqif public parking will also follow revised Ramadan timings. Paid hours will run from Monday to Saturday in two intervals: from 9am to 6pm and from 9pm to 2am.
Standard parking spaces are priced at Dh2 per hour, while premium spaces are Dh3 per hour. Similar to toll gates, parking will be free on Sundays. Residents can pay through the official Mawaqif machines, app, or SMS services, ensuring flexibility during the holy month.
Ramadan preparation
Across the UAE, various sectors are adjusting operations to accommodate Ramadan. Private sector employees will see a two-hour reduction in their daily working hours, compared with the usual eight- or nine-hour schedule. Employers may also implement remote work arrangements in line with directives from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
Federal employees will follow a revised schedule, working from 9am to 2.30pm from Monday to Thursday and from 9am to noon on Fridays. Schools nationwide have adjusted timetables to support fasting students and offer relief to parents, reflecting the sanctity and traditions of the holy month.
In Dubai, residents will benefit from two hours of free public parking, with Salik toll gates also operating under revised Ramadan timings, mirroring the approach taken in Abu Dhabi.
